Decision on Moira gaming centre is deferred

AT a recent meeting of Lisburn City Council’s Planning Committee, members asked the Planning Service to defer a decision on an application for a gaming centre in Moira.

The Planners had indicated they were minded to approve the application for a change of use of a premises in Main Street from a retail unit to an adult gaming centre.

However, following representations from councillors, the senior planning officer agreed to defer the decision and hold a meeting with councillors to further discuss the application.

It was also noted that six letters of objection had been lodged with the Planning Service opposing the change, with three of those letters being received from local churches.
