As well as a gold award, the girls have also each received a Brigaders’ Brooch which is awarded after a minimum of three years for work in spiritual, physical, education and service. Three have completed 15 years’ attendance.

All have reached gold award standard following service to the local community and further afield by helping out at an orphanage in Moldova and a four-day expedition in Moldova.

Cllr Morrow commended the girls and their families for their perseverance. “They are members of Buckna Girls’ Brigade and have endured all weathers to be there,” she added.
