Deep regret at passing of Seamus O’Hagan

One of Lurgan’s best known characters passed away yesterday (Friday).

Seamus O’Hagan, former barman at Lurgan Golf Club, was well known and loved across the town and will be remembered for his constant smile and fantastic sense of humour.

His death was announced by Lurgan Golf Club which said: “It is with great sadness that the Captain and members of Lurgan Golf Club have learned of the passing of their former bar man Seamus O’Hagan on Friday evening. ‘Seamy’ as he was fondly known retired recently after almost twenty years of faithful service to Lurgan Golf Club.

“A huge character in his time at Lurgan Golf Club who had time for everyone will be sorely missed.

“Everyone associated with the Golf Club pass on their deepest sympathies to the family circle.”

Seamy was a regular contributor to the Lurgan Mail and was an always welcome visitor to our office where he would brighten many of our days with his smiling face and ready wit.

A true gentleman in every respect, Lurgan is a much poorer place for his loss and all at the ‘MAIL’ pass on their deepest condolences to the family circle.
