Defibrillator stolen twice in a month from Portstewart store

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a defibrillator from the Spar on the Coleraine Road, Portstewart.

It was stolen shortly after 4.00am on Sunday by two males who walked up the Coleraine Road in the direction Coleraine.

The PSNI stated: “This is a piece of life saving equipment placed there for the safety of the entire community. This is the second time this has been stolen this month, it has recently been returned and unbelievably people have decided to steal it again.

“This device cost £1800 but the cost of someone in our community having access to it when it is needed, is priceless. The consequences of this could be fatal.”
