Delia's trip called off

LURGAN'S award winning travel agent Delia Aston got caught up in last week's chaos caused by the ash cloud over Europe.

Delia, proprietor of Clubworld Travel and Denise Quinn, manager of chain's Banbridge office, were both due to join the exclusive launch party of Celebrity Cruise Line’s stunning new five-star ship, Eclipse.

But just two days before sailing the party was put on ice when the ship was sent on a mercy mission to rescue 2,000 stranded holidaymakers in Bilbao in the north of Spain.

The passengers certainly enjoyed an unexpected five-star bonus at the end of their stressful holiday.

And for Delia and Denise the mercy mission was definitely the right thing to do. "I congratulate Celebrity Cruises on their public spirited act of generosity,” said Delia. “These were exceptional circumstances and they have responded in an exceptionally open handed way,” she said.

As one of the leading agencies for the Celebrity brand Delia and her Banbridge office manager Denise Quinn were amongst the select few from the UK and Ireland to be invited to the exclusive launch party.

"Eclipse is the most recent addition to the Solstice class ships and like both her predecessors is setting new standards in luxury cruising. The Celebrity line is designed for discerning cruisers who expect the best in service, cuisine and a premium luxurious finish throughout the ship. The new Eclipse fulfils all of these demands and much, much more,” she added.
