Despite the isolation of the outbuilding, police believe that motorists travelling on the nearby A36 main arterial route between Larne and Ballymena may have witnessed some suspicious activity in the area.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information about this incident to contact them in Larne on 0845 600 800.

Alternatively, information can also be supplied anonymously to the Crimestoppers organisation by calling 0800 555 111.
