Demand for ‘Big Brother’ cams
Fights arranged through social media, sectarian behaviour and nuisance scramblers are among locally reported anti-social behaviour incidents, some of which have resulted in mobile CCTV deployment.
Details revealed to last week’s public Policing & Community Safety Partnership meeting, confirmed that 28 applications for siting of mobile cameras have been received and that 15 were deployed.
Of the 15 camera deployments, it was reported that in 12 cases no further incidents were reported, in two cases further incidents were reported and in one case evidence was obtained by PSNI for use in prosecution.
