Speaking in relation to the reorganisation of policing teams and the new operational style coming into force from Monday, September 14, the District Commander backed up his comment with statistics for ‘incoming demand in a typical week’.

He revealed that during a seven day period, 784 calls for service are received, £23,000 worth of controlled drugs seized by officers and 69 incidents of anti-social behaviour responded to.

“Success for me is increasing seizures of drugs and criminals brought to justice but success is going to be also about reducing some of the demand as well,” he said.
