Deputy Mayor spreads cheer

The Deputy Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh, Councillor Alexander Redpath recently completed a tour of council facilities in the run up to Christmas to thank staff for all their hard work throughout the year.

Mr Redpath took a tin of chocolates with him during his visits, much to the delight of council staff and officials.

“Our staff work incredibly hard all year round and I wanted to thank them for going above and beyond to serve the people of this district,” said Mr Redpath.

“It is especially important to recognise our staff at Christmas.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Council can never fully shut down for the holiday season and some of our staff will have to keep working when many of us are enjoying the Christmas period.

“Our waste disposal teams will have a particularly busy Christmas period and expect to process thousands of trees as the Christmas season comes to a close.”
