Derek is the toast of Probus!

FORMER crime prevention officer, Derek Ewing MBE, was the guest speaker at the latest meeting of Coleraine Probus Club.

Following 32 years of public service Derek is now professional Toastmaster and master of ceremonies.

Derek entertained members with many humorous stories before telling his audience what he now did for a living.

He’s proud to have been part of a numberof breakfast and civic functions, assisting the Mayor and other officials in carrying out their duties.

He had the pleasure of being in official attendance when The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall performed the official opening of the Braid at Ballymena Town Hall.

Not too long ago he was also present when the Hollywood actor, Liam Neeson, became a Freeman of his hometown of Ballymnea.

Derek has also officiated at the opening dinner for local,national and international guests attending the prestigious Northern Ireland Milk Cup - which he has been associated with for many years.

As witnessed by members Derek is at home in front of an audience or in the company of people of all backgrounds.

In proposing the vote of thanks Ross Torrens complimented Derek on his highly informative and entertaining talk.
