Derry Christmas bin collections, opening hours for leisure centres, dumps and museums

Since Christmas Day falls on a Friday during a blue bin week, anyone in the Derry area with a Friday bin collection will have their blue emptied Saturday 19th December. Please leave your blue bin out for collection at 7.30am. All other days of the week are unaffected.

City Cemetery

This city cemetery will be open every day during Christmas week from 8 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The Guildhall

Opening hours at the Guildhall and Tower Museum are from 10 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. however the Guildhall and the Museum will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s day.

Sports facilities

Templemore sports complex will operate normal opening hours however will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year’s Day. The centre will close at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Foyle Arena will operate normal opening hours however is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s day.

The City Baths is closed from Christmas Eve until Tuesday December 29 when it is open as normal. The pool will be close on New Year’s Eve at 6 p.m.

Recycling centres

Pennyburn, Glendermott and Brandywell recycling centres will be open from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Christmas eve, closed Christmas day, open boxing day from 10 - 2 and Sunday December 27 1-5 p.m. and Monday 8 - 6 p.m.
