Dervock bridge safety measures put in place

Members of the Ballymoney District Inter-Agency and Dervock and District Community Association have been lobbying for repair work to be carried out at Conagher Bridge, Dervock.

This issued was tabled in October by concerned residents and road users who approached Cllr Darryl Wilson (UUP) and the Association. An assurance was given by D.Lowry (Transport NI) confirming that on the inspection of the bridge on the Knock Road that work was required and he added that he had ordered works to remove grass, weeds etc here.

Frankie Cunningham (chair – DADCA) commented: “I can also confirm that in partnership with Ballymoney PCSP an armband has been issued to every child in the Borough. That, coupled with the new crash barriers etc., certainly helps make things a little safer all round and provide that added safety measure for all road users.

“It also highlights the benefit of working in partnership with all sectors and goes to prove that community involvement is paramount.”
