Dervock RBL’s new flag

The Dervock Branch of The Royal British Legion held its Poppy awards supper in the Mill Tea room Dervock.

Dervock Branch has won the Northern Ireland efficiency cup of the last three years for the best branch without a club in Northern Ireland.

The branch owes a big debt of gratitude to the general public and business community of the area for all the help and support.

Donations help the legion carry out its programme of providing welfare, comradeship, representation and Remembrance to the Armed Forces community.

Poppy Awards were presetned Centra Shops in Ballybogey and Dervock, McFadden’s Spar Stranocum, Mill Tea room Dervock and the Blackwater Bar Dervock Five year poppy awards wen to George Black, Ruth Black, Andy Huey, Vicky Huey, Mrs Bridie McLernon, Pat McLernon.

Branch chairman, George Black, accepted a presentation of a Dervock Branch Royal British Legion Flag presented by Mrs Bridie McLernon in memory of her late husband Major William Kennedy McLernon who was a past chairman of the branch and who was one of the stalwarts behind rebuilding the memorial where the community are proud to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
