DIABETES UK is appealing for people to support their local runners taking part in the Belfast Marathon next week.

There are 110 people running for the charity on May day, and among them will be Maurice Devenney, Eddie Clyde and Thomas Devenney from Coleraine and Paul Walker from Portstewart.

The charity is asking anyone who is spectating on the day to cheer them on.

National fundraising assitant for the charity, Naomi Brown said: "We depend so heavily on people like Maurice, Thomas, Eddie and Paul to take part in these challenges and raise vital funds for us so I would like to thank them for all the time and effort they're putting in to help people with diabetes.

“I would ask everyone spectating to watch out for them in their Diabetes UK vest tops and to cheer them on.

“If anyone is interested in sponsoring the four men they can do that through our local office on 02890666646."
