Diamond event to be held in Cullybackey

THE village of Cullybackey will come together for a Diamond Jubilee fun day on June 23 to mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign.

The free event is being hosted by Cullybackey Development Agency with the support of Ballymena Borough Council and Cullybackey Improvement Association and will take place at the Dr John McKelvey Community Centre between 2pm and 6pm. The fun day is open to everyone and will provide entertainment for all the family.

Children are invited to come along in their finest fancy dress for a chance to take part in the opening parade and those with the best costumes will be in with a chance of winning prizes.

Children can also compete in the village Jubilee colouring competition which will be distributed to the Buick Memorial and Diamond Primary Schools and can be returned to the Nisa store in the village.

Face painting, glitter tattoos and nail art will all be available on the day so that everyone can be looking their best to have their photo taken at the ‘photo booth’.

Once you’ve been snapped, why not go along and check out the fabulous selection of stalls which will include craft, cake and jewellery stalls and a memorabilia display.

The Cullybackey Olympics will give a chance to anyone in the village to become a sporting legend!

Anyone with a talent for the egg and spoon or three legged race in encouraged to come along and take part, Likewise – if you think you have skills at horseshoe or welly boot throwing – come along and compete with the best of the village.
