Diamond Jubilee Family Service

A SPECIAL family service will be held this Sunday, February 26, in Newbuildings Independent Methodist Church to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen came to the throne on February 6, 1952 and her coronation took place on June 2, 1953. During her reign she has undetaken 261 official overseas visits, including 78 state visits to 116 different countries.

The only other British monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee was Queen Victoria in 1897. A special website has been launched by the Royal Household featuring the latest news, photographs, announcements, and historical information about Her Majesty’s 60-year reign.

The service in Newbuildings begins at 7pm and the church is located on the Duncastle Road in the village. Everyone is welcome, and John Porter from Ballymoney will be the guest soloist. Refreshments will be served.
