The packed workshop aimed to help young people explore and understand the issue of bullying as well as gain practical tips on how to identify and prevent bullying in their school, organisation or community.

Local Diana Award holder Darren McDonagh said: “We want everyone to feel safe and happy in their school, youth organisation and community, so we are giving young people the chance to learn about bullying, share their experiences and come up with ways of dealing with it.

“It would be great to see anti-bullying ambassadors in our local schools and organisations, with young people using their skills to support one another.”

At the end of the busy day Diana Award CEO Tessi Ojo presented each participant with a Diana Anti Bullying Ambassador certificate and pack, along with an Anti Bullying guide book for parents.

She added: “This has been a great day for us; so good to get the chance to travel to Larne and meet so many young people eager to learn how to deal with bullying which they or their friends may face.

“The young people have worked hard and we hope that they will put their new learning and skills to good use in their homes, schools and local community to make them better safer places.”
