Diane and friends say thanks to Antrim Hospital

DIANE Magee never forgot the kindness and care shown by medical staff at Antrim Area Hospital where her daughter, Abigal, was born.

Abigal arrived seven weeks early and it was a case of ensuring that she received close attention during those critical early days.

Now, two years old, Abigal is enjoying life to the full and for her mum and dad, Colin, the intention was always to give something back.

Recently, at Bushmills Presbyterian Church hall, Diane and her friends organised a coffee morning during which she collected money for the Neo-Natal Unit at Antrim Hospital.

Not only was it an opportunity for supporters of Diane to enjoy a pleasant morning in a convivial atmosphere, but also to contribute to a very worthwhile cause.

The outcome was a collection of 800 which goes to the hospital to help keep pace with the substantial costs involved in the Neo-Natal unit.

Diane told the Times: “First of all I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way. I was delighted with the amount we raised.

“Abigal, Colin and myself received care second to none while in Antrim and I couldn’t speak highly enough of the nurses and doctors. They were fantastic.”
