Diane Dodds addresses CBI in Lisburn

DIANE Dodds MEP spoke on “European Funding Opportunities for Businesses” at the CBI’s NI Chairman’s Senior Executives’ Lunch in Lisburn last week. This was kindly sponsored by Lisburn based Employers for Childcare, which is a social enterprise employing over 40 people.

After the event, Diane Dodds MEP said: “I have recently produced a new Signposts to Funding Directory which highlights over 30 funds available from a range of EU and local sources. Opportunities are available in a range of areas. These are Environment, Tourism, Rural Life, Agriculture, Fisheries, Enterprise, Innovation, Culture, Media, Social Affairs, Transport, Co-operation across Borders, Skills Development, Education and Training as well as Selling outside Northern Ireland. There is also a short section on sources of financial support. My aim as MEP is to see as much of the money we put into the EU coming back to Northern Ireland, and this directory – and my directory for community and not for profit groups – is aimed at helping fulfil that aim.”

A fruitful discussion followed between the speakers and audience of business people drawn from a wide range of industrial sectors such as Agriculture, Engineering, Childcare, Pharmaceuticals and Polymers.
