The court heard that at 12.20am police saw a car without its lights on being driven on the Avenue Road in Lurgan.

They stopped the car and spoke to the defendant who was driving. He said his licence and insurance were at home but a check revealed there was no insurance. Godson only had a provisional licence.

The defendant had driven to Lurgan to pick up his mother.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing Godson, said the defendant’s record was littered with a number of offences of a similar nature. The car belonged to his mother.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said he would give the defendant one final chance warning him that he could be sent to prison for driving without insurance.
