Director’s role for Lee with Quadrangle

For Lee is now taking on the director’s role in Quadrangle Productions’ latest play “An Inspector Calls” by JB Priestley.

Cross and Passion College student Lee recently played the lead role of Ren in “Footloose” with North Coast Theatre Productions but now he is steering the cast of Quadrangle towards their two nights of performances on April 27th and 28th.

Lee told the Times: “As an actor I’ve always had a high level fo respect and admiration for my directors.

“I’ve wanted to direct my own production for a while so I could walk in their shoes and learn more about the world that I plan on going into.

“Quadrangle Productions gave me the opportunity and I’ve had an amazing time so far.

“It’s hard work, however, I have a hard-working and talented cast who are great to work with.

“It has been a great experience and has pushed me in so many ways and I definitely want to direct more in the future.”

Quadrangle Productions was formed to ensure that all young people in the Moyle area had access to quality drama training and to provide a sustainable platform for these young people to showcase their talents.

And, now the talented cast is preparing to present Priestley’s class “An Inspector Calls” in the McAllister Hall for two nights.

“An Inspector Calls” was written in 1945 and looks at the action surrounding one single night in 1912 in the home of Arthur Birling.

The Birlings are a wealthy, middle class family who are having a dinner party to celebrate their daughter Sheila’s engagement to Gerald Croft, the son of Lord and Lady Croft - Birling’s rival in business.

The family is visited by a man calling himself Inspector Goole, who questions the family about the suicide of a young working-class woman, Eva Smith.

Throuhgout the night, each member of the family is interrogated by Inspector Goole and as the night goes on, it is revealed that each of them has a terrible secret that lead to the ruin of Eva Smith.

The cast is made up of local people including Dominic McAfee as Arthur Birling, Caroline Kelly-Dodds as Sybil Birling, David Thomas Willis as Eric Birling and Rachel McCook as Sheila Birling.

They are joined by Calum Telfer as Gerald Croft, Ryan Ennis as Inspector Goole and Dairine Forsythe as Edna.
