Disabled Parking Bays for Blue Badge holders only says Mid-Ulster MLA
Mid Ulster DUP MLA Ian McCrea has encouraged motorists to exercise courtesy and stop parking in disabled parking bays, just because it’s convenient.
Speaking today Ian McCrea said: “It has been brought to my attention that disabled parking bays are being used by some people who do not have a Blue Badge. This mainly happens in and around premises that would be open after normal working hours and after Traffic Attendants are of duty.
“Most people do observe the rule that disabled parking bays are for blue badge holders only, but there are the exception who feel it is ok to take up a disabled bay just because it’s convenient for them and this is not ok in my reckoning.
“I have raised this matter with Cookstown Police and have asked that they monitor this closely and use every resource possible to ensure that disabled bays are used properly,” said the DUP MLA.
