Disappointment for residents over parking permits says Dallat

Mr Dallat told the Times: “A number of residents have expressed hope that residents parking schemes would be introduced so that all-day parking in front of their homes would be regulated.

“The fact that this is now not happening is disappointing for those most affected by the all-day parker who very often shows no regard for the resident whose home they are parking outside.

“Many of these are dependent on careers, home helps, nurses and other family members who call to their home on a daily basis.”

Mr Dallat added: “While these schemes ran into problems in Belfast that should not mean that progress cannot be made in other areas where there are serious problems that must be addressed sooner rather than later.”
