Disqualified for speeding offence

A 22-year-old woman was disqualified from driving for six months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for a speeding offence.

Hannah Robinson, Kings Park Mews, Lurgan, was also fined £75.

The court heard she was detected doing 40mph in a 30mph zone on the Soldierstown Road, Aghalee, on November 8 last year.

A defending solicitor said the defendant had been visiting a friend in the Aghalee area and mistakenly believed she was in a 40mph zone.

The defendant did not have her licence available for the court and District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said if she found the licence she could appeal the sentence.
