Repairs will be carried out at the busy Moneymore Rd roundabout as part of the scheme.

“There are parts of the Oldtown Street and Milburn Street, especially at the Moneymore Road roundabout, which are in desperate need of work, and these resurfacing works will help to make a real improvement to our local roads,” said Mrs Overend.

“The work will extend from Ferguy Heights to the junction at the Morgans Hill Road, and will take in the Moneymore Road, and Lissan Road, and will begin on 28 July 2014.”

Roads Minister Danny Kennedy MLA, said,

“Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys

“During this period traffic will be diverted via East Circular Road and Coagh Street. Through traffic will be able to cross between Moneymore Road and Morgan Hill during the first two weeks of the scheme, however this route will be closed during the third week to facilitate the resurfacing of the mini roundabouts. Traffic will also be diverted along Lissan Drive during the third week.”
