Dobbies to grow charity cash

This year, all local charity partners at Dobbies will have the opportunity to create a bespoke fundraising plan.

In the past few years, charities have held events in the store, such as fun days with cupcake decorating and fancy dress competitions.

Sarah Young, Community Champion for Dobbies Lisburn, said: “As a store, we’re really excited to continue working with Focus Cancer NI and to see what new and inspiring ideas they have. Our customers have always been incredibly generous, and this is a cause they really support.”

For the first time, Dobbies’ Local Charity Partners will also be benefitting from the 5p carrier bag charge, which will give fundraising efforts an extra boost.

The retailer has national charity partnerships to complement its local fundraising programme, and recently raised over £171,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
