Dog lovers invited to come along to the Bark in the Park

'BARK in the Park', a sponsored dog walk, will take place on Sunday 9th May 2010 at St. Columb's Park with all proceeds from the event being donated to local charity Foyle Hospice.

Speaking at the recent launch of the event at Jollyes Pet Store – sponsors of the event – Rachel Bruce, Community Fundraiser said: “We are delighted to announce details of the forthcoming ‘Bark in the Park’ event on Sunday 9th May. We are appealing to all dog lovers to come along and support this sponsored walk, whilst at the same time taking their ‘four legged’ friends for a leisurely stroll around St Columb’s Park. We are extremely grateful to Jollyes Pet Store for kindly supporting the event again.

“There will be a doggie gift bag, dog tag and certificate for all participants on the day. The Hospice depends heavily on the support of the local community. It costs approximately 6000 per day for Hospice to continue to provide specialised palliative care services to patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses as well as support services to family members and loved ones. We hope this excellent event will generate great interest and encourage people to take their dog for a walk and raise money for the Hospice.”

Anyone interested in participating can request a registration pack and sponsor form by contacting Foyle Hospice Fundraising Centre on Tel: (028) 71359888 or email [email protected]
