Dogs seized and men arrested after animal cruelty raids in Ardmore and Claudy

Three dogs have been seized and two men arrested following raids by police investigating animal alleged cruelty in Ardmore, Claudy and Strabane.

Police made two arrests on Monday.

The men aged 28 and 22 were interviewed on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to animals and were later released pending further enquiries.

Three dogs were also seized for specialist examination by veterinary surgeons.

Searches were carried out by the Derry City & Strabane District Support Team, Waterside NPT and Strabane NPT in the Claudy, Strabane and Ardmore areas.
