Doing 90 mph in 60 limit

A motorist detected driving at 90 miles an hour in the 60 limit, was fined £150 and had five points endorsed on his licence at North Antrim Magistrates Court last Wednesday.

Ryan Hugh McIntyre, of 59B Boyland Road, Ballymoney, admitted the offence which took place at Ballybogey Road on September 3, 2009.

The court was told that McIntyre, aged 27, was detected doing 90 at 11.25 p.m. on the night in question.

When stopped by police and told of his speed, McIntyre said he ‘should not have been doing that.’

A solicitor for McIntyre said his client had a number of businesses and drove 1500 miles per week. He was out late and just wanted to get home, the solicitor added.
