Dollingstown hosts parade

A series of events in Dollingstown to commemorate the 100th Anniversary 
of the start of World War 1 will culminate with a Mini-Twelfth Parade tonight (Thursday).

Dollingstown LOL 62 will host Lower Iveagh West No 8 District’s Annual Mini Twelfth Parade which will be lead by Ancre Somme Association in period dress.

It finishes a week of events marking the anniversary and has included a talk by well known World War 1 Historian Tommy McClimmonds on the Great War and the contribution from the village of Dollingstown.

On Tuesday local man David Martin WM of Lurgan No 6 District gave a detailed talk on the UVF Gun Running and the Clyde Valley while on Wednesday members of Dollingstown Orange Lodge hosted a display of WW1 memorabilia.
