Domestic Violence packs launched

Causeway Women’s Aid in partnership with Glebeside Community Associations held the launch of their Domestic Violence information resource packs.

This initiative is part of the working of Causeway Women’s Aid’s DV POST project which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and delivered by Causeway Womens Aid in the Coleraine, Ballymoney and Moyle areas.

Causeway Women’s Aid works to ensure that women experiencing domestic violence in the Causeway area will have access to support services to enable them to move on from abusive relationships. Women also have the opportunity to undertake personal development and essential skills training supported by a crèche.

The Community Partnership Initiative has worked closely with members of Glebeside Community Association over the past few months to develop the domestic violence information packs. Through this process seven members from Glebeside Community Association have completed the domestic violence awareness training to increase knowledge of the issues.

Anne Smyth from Glebeside Community Association spoke at the launch alongside Causeway Womens Aid Centre Co-Ordinator Mathilda Taulbutt.

Causeway Women’s Aid aims to further develop its working partnerships with local community groups in order to enable women in communities to access services where they may not have engaged with us in the past.
