Domino’s outlet to lead the way at Redlands

THE transformation of Larne’s Redlands area into a major retail and leisure complex is set to continue this month with the opening of the first in a planned range of restaurants.

In the past seven months, the edge-of-town site has become home to an Asda supermarket and a state-of-the-art, eight screen digital Omniplex Cinema. And the developer at the helm of the transformation, local businessman Sergio McKenzie, told the Times that a Domino’s Pizza restaurant would be opening its doors to the public before the end of the month.

“Things are coming along well with the Redlands site and the Domino’s Pizza outlet is nearing completion,” he added. “I am also chuffed to bits that Blue Chicago Grill has agreed to set up shop here, and should be ready to open in February. This will be a massive boost for the town, as it is a big name in the industry and one of the best family restaurants in Northern Ireland.”

Mr McKenzie added that a Funky Monkey children’s play area was also in the pipeline, along with a “high-quality” Chinese restaurant, an Italian-style bistro and a coffee shop.

“When this complex is finished, we should have a nice range of food outlets for people to choose from. I am really pleased with how the cinema turned out and it has been doing very well since it opened last month”, he concluded.
