“The DUP have lobbied hard to push for this investment following a slow deterioration of the area. I want to thank Councillor Mark Baxter and the local community for their determination to drive this £20,000 investment.”

Local DUP Councillor Mark Baxter also welcomed the investment: “I want to echo the words of our MP as this is a fantastic boost for the local area.

“Many concerns were raised about the state of the area and I am delighted that the Council have listened and taken action.

“The £20,000 will be used to provide floodlights, re-surfacing and general maintenance around the area.

“It is anticipated that the work will reach completion by the end of March.”
