Donations will aid Age NI advice line

The Dunluce Street shop is in need of clothes, accessories, CDs, DVDs and household items to be re-sold.

Money raised by Age NI’s shops helps the charity to deliver services locally and nationally including a free advice line (open 365 days a year) and vital campaigning work.

Age NI works tirelessly to influence politicians and decision-makers on issues that affect older people every day, such as pensions, care provision and fuel poverty.

Age NI can collect donations as well as accept items at its shop. If you have a number of bags to donate, the charity can arrange a house collection by a stock collector who will be happy to help.

Donations can be maximised by signing up to gift aid. By simply completing a basic form when you donate goods means that Age NI will receive an extra 25p for every £1 that is raised from donations from the government. That extra money doesn’t cost the donor a penny and helps the charity to raise more valuable funds for people in later life.

Tracey Parke, manager of Age NI’s shop in Larne, said: “When you sort through last season’s wears, please donate any unwanted items to Age NI. We are desperately in need of clothes, accessories and household items. All donations can make such a huge difference, because anything we cannot sell we recycle, so nothing is wasted.”
