Donegal bargain houses come to auction

Several North West properties will be auctioned off in the RDS at the end of April with local houses and apartments under the hammer with reserves as low as €20,000 and €25,000.

A house in Castlefin will go under the hammer for just €20,000, whilst an apartment in Bundoran will be listed for 25,000.

The properties are lots in the Allsop Ireland April catalogue, which features over 210 residential and commercial properties with a combined reserve of over €24 million.

The auction will take place in lace on April 28 in the RDS.

At least two houses in Raphoe will feature: one, a detached house in William Street with a reserve of €30,000; the other, a derelict semi-detached in Meetinghouse Street, which also has a reserve of €30,000.

A second floor two bedroom apartment at 215 Summerhill Apartments in Bundoran will be offered for €25,000. And an end of house terrace at The Diamond, in Castlefin is one of the cheapest lots on offer at €20,000.

Several other Donegal properties with slightly higher reserves also feature, including a semi-detached house in Forest Park, Killygordon (€65,000); a semi-detached house at Coylin Court, Ramelton (€60,000); a semi-detached three bedroom house at Ard Na Carraige, Carrick (€60,000); and a three storey mid terrace mixed use building in Castle Street, Ballyshannon (€55,000 - €65,000).

Jonathan Fenn, Divisional Director, said: “Following on from three successful auctions in Q1, we have assembled 213 lots for the first of three auctions to take place in Q2. The catalogue provides primarily residential assets but with a significant commercial offering of over 70 lots. A number of multi-family lots will undoubtedly draw interest from investors, given the asset management and development opportunities, which will bring much needed accommodation to families under pressure to secure a home.”
