Donemana WI notes

The president welcomed members and friends from Leckpatrick, Castlederg, Newtownstewart and Baronscourt WI’s, Finn Valley ICA and Strabane and District Women Together.

The speaker Mrs Mary O’Brien ,who has written a book ‘Not a Leg to Stand On’, told of how she had hand written her story and of the problems she had getting the book published. Mary then read some extracts from her book and went on to entertain all present with her singing.

Angela Hamilton proposed the vote of thanks to Mrs O’Brien.

After supper Mrs Elsie Loughlin, Castlederg WI’, thanked the members of Donemana on behalf of all the visitors for their hospitality.

The evening came to a close with all present singing A Countrywoman’s Song.
