Don’t lose heart when the way is steep
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you.” DEUT 31:8
Keep bravely on the path set before you
Believing God is your strength and stay,
And rely on the grace you’ve been given
To guide you the rest of the way.
Why should we give away to discouragement?
Leave with God each weakness and care,
Ever mindful He is the great physician
And of all things He is aware.
For He too travelled the human road
Sometimes weary, afflicted and tried
And Peter who promised to stand by Him
Turned away and his Saviour denied.
Though life’s voyage was never easy
Don’t lose heart when the way is steep,
Your Heavenly Father is ever beside you
A tender watch to keep.
