Dorothy, who lives on Urbal Road, started at the practice in September 1998 and has made many friends over her 16 and half years.

She explained: “Over the years I have really enjoyed meeting all the different people that have come into the surgery. It has been great to chat to everyone and help them deal with their problems. I’m going to miss the sense of community spirt we have there and the caring nature of both the patients and staff.

She added: “The party was very emotional and I got some lovely gifts including a watch and an ipad which was very generous.

“I’m not sure what I’m going to do during my retirement. However I’m sure my granddaughter Ruby will make sure I don’t get bored and keep me on my toes.”
