Double decker windowsblown out by gales

SCHOOLCHILDREN from a Bushmills school had a lucky escape after gale-force winds damaged their schoolbus last Thursday morning.

A Translink spokesperson said: “The Ulsterbus school service travelling to Dunluce school in Bushmills from Portrush on Thursday, December 5 was hit by a gust of wind causing the two front windows of the double deck vehicle to fall outwards.

There were around 40 pupils on board at the time and they were transferred onwards to school on another vehicle.”

The spokesperson added:

“No injuries were sustained and Translink has been in ongoing contact with the school principal since the incident.”
