Double glazing to start

Double glazing work is to be carried out at over 500 Housing Executive homes in Carrickfergus in the coming months.

Details were contained in an Assembly Question Time response by Social Development Minister Nelson McCausalnd to East Antrim MLA David Hilditch.

Mr McCausland said the Housing Executive has advised him that in Greenisland work at 343 dwellings is due to start in August and in Carrickfergus phase 3, 177 dwellings are due to commence in September

Thanking the minister, Mr Hilditch said: “We have been representing our constituents and have been trying to push the matter. Housing Executive tenants have been patiently waiting for this to happen for quite some time and can now look forward to this work being completed.”

East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson also welcomed the announcement saying it will help with heat retention.
