Down congratulated
A LETTER of congratulations is on its way to the Down All-Ireland GAA team from Craigavon Council.
Although the Mournemen lost in last Sunday’s final to Cork, Councillor Johnny McGibbon felt that their achievement in getting to the final should be recognised.
“They were very unfortunate to lose by a point. There are some parts of the borough which are in County Down and the manager is from the area. It was a major achievement from Down who defied the odds to reach the final.”
He proposed a letter should be sent congratulating the team which was agreed by council.
