Expressing her delight at the students’ achievements was school principal, Jacqueline Stewart. “One hundred percent of our pupils have achieved two or more grades at A* to E, and we’re over the Northern Ireland average for three or more grades at A* to C, so we’re very pleased,” she said.

Over half (57 percent) of the 29 A-Level pupils at the school were awarded two or more grades at A* to C, with AS-Level results similarly promising.

“Some of the pupils are going to Jordanstown and we have at least one going to Queen’s. Quite a few are going to university across the water; Liverpool is a very popular choice this year,” Mrs Stewart added.

Top achievers in the outgoing Year 14 group included Chloe Dunlop, who picked up a trio of A grades in Health and Social Care and Art and Design.

Fellow Year 14 student Chloe Wallace was celebrating gaining a place on an Education course at Liverpool John Moore University with her grades of ABC, while Michael McTernaghan picked up a B and a C in History and ICT.

At AS-Level, Karis Giani was also celebrating a hat-trick of A grades in Maths, History and Business Studies. “Karis scored 98 percent in her Maths A-Level,” added Mrs Stewart.
