DPP to discuss policing at public meeting in Milltown

LISBURN DPP is holding a public meeting next Tuesday, October 18, in Milltown to discuss policing in the area.

Councillor Margaret Tolerton (pictured), a local Councillor for the area and DPP Chairperson, has welcomed the opportunity to hear people’s views on the main policing issues for the area and hear feedback on how the area is policed. The Northern Ireland Housing Executive will also be in attendance at the meeting.

Mrs Tolerton said “This meeting will take a different format to normal DPP Public Meetings. The police Area Commander for Lisburn will provide an update on policing specific to the Milltown area in terms of recorded crime and any emerging trends.

“There will then be an opportunity for members of the public to ask any questions relating to policing that they may have. “The Milltown meeting will only be constructive if local people come along and have their views heard.”

Area Commander Chief Inspector Darrin Jones said: “Meetings like this are an excellent opportunity for us to meet the community and listen to their concerns. It gives me a chance to outline how my teams are policing the area and how we can resolve local problems.

“I would encourage all residents of the Milltown area to come along and meet their local beat officer and discuss the policing issues that really matter to them.”
