The thriving Youth Theatre, which works with the secondary school age-group, acted out a wide range of texts and improvisations throughout their show. The mini scripted plays set up awkward relationships which called for a great deal of complex timing and emotional work from all the cast.

The improvisations were full of comedy and drama and were inspired by pictures and a range of weird and wonderful online products requiring complex theatrical ideas and character acting to present a strong advert and improvisational play to the audience. The youth theatre students performed to an superb standard.

At the end of the show students received medal, trophies and certificates. Lisa Semple, the Principal of the Academy, said, “The students in the Lurgan class are marvelous to work with and it is an absolute pleasure to be able to offer each and every one of these amazing young people the chance to shine through our curriculum.

The support we receive from our parents and the local community is vital to the development of our programme and the children who take part in our classes. We are now starting to look forward to the summer productions, where every student gets an important role to play and is a culmination of the extensive work completed throughout the year.”
