Dramatic success for St MacNissi’s pupils

staff and pupils from St MacNissi’s Primary School are celebrating great success in speech and drama competition and examinations.

Principal, Mrs Brady, introduced the London Academy of Music Drama and Arts (LAMDA) examination syllabus to the school’s extra-curriculum activities in 2010 and this year pupils achieved 100 per cent pass rate again, with 44 pupil from Key Stage 1 and 2, achieving graded examinations.

Mrs Brady said: “LAMDA is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom. These exams are designed to equip our pupils, whatever their age or aspirations, with communication skills that will serve them throughout life.”

Pupils also competed in the speech and drama section of Carrickfergus Music Festival, achieving trophy and medal successes in all categories, the youngest competitor being only four years old.

Speech and drama teacher for St. MacNissi’s, Mrs Linzi Conway, said: “I am extremely proud of the achievements of our pupils this year and the results demonstrate commitment from the pupils, parents and staff.”
