Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a significant £215,000 resurfacing scheme for the B90 Ballystrudder Road in Islandmagee.

The scheme is intended to provide two kilometres of new road surface from Fairview to the Low Road in Islandmagee village.

The Minister said: “This is further significant investment in the Larne Borough by my Department to improve the road network.

“The works and traffic management arrangements are programmed in order to minimise inconvenience to the public.

“However motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.

“To protect the safety of the travelling public and contractors during the scheme it will be necessary to provide traffic control and road closures for resurfacing, starting on Thursday August 14 2014 for two weeks.”

Traffic information notices will be provided in advance of and during the works.

Diversionary routes will be sign-posted for road users.

The planned schemes are subject to favourable weather conditions.
