The court heard that the defendant was involved in an accident on the Old Portadown Road in Lurgan. A breath test gave a reading of 117.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said his client accepted he had taken alcohol prior to the accident but afterwards, when he had left the scene, he took more alcohol.

He added that Gabala accepted his period of disqualification would be lengthened because of the high reading.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said it was a very high reading.
