Driving ban follows Christmas drinks
A Christmas drink led to a Lurgan man getting a 12 month driving ban last Wednesday at Craigavon Court.
Keith Mercer (39) of Darling Avenue was also fined £120 for driving with excess alcohol in blood. The ban will be reduced to nine months on completion of a course.
The court heard that on December 24 last year Mercer was stopped while driving in High Street and a blood test gave a reading of 156.
Defence said he had finished work early and gone for a few drinks to celebrate Christmas. He had taken a taxi home but then made a foolish decision to get into his car.
