Driving ban for Coleraine woman

A COLERAINE woman who had no insurance has been banned from driving.

Louise Margaret Anne Anderson (26) of Millburn Road, was also charged with driving with no ‘L’ plates.

The charges related to an incident in Portrush on November 16, 2006.

Police stopped Anderson driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Causeway Street.

She was unable to produce an insurance certificate for the vehicle and elected to do so within seven days.

Police later called at Anderson’s home after she failed to report to the police station. She admitted to officers that she only had a provisional driving licence.

A solicitor for Anderson told the court that his client had since passed her test and that she had the necessary documents for her car.

District Judge Richard Wilson fined Anderson 250 and banned her from driving for three months. He also fined her 50 for not displaying ‘L’ plates.
