Dromara man is disqualified as a company director

A Dromara man has been disqualified in the High Court, Belfast in respect of his conduct as a director of a commercial buildings construction company.

Alex Morton (35) of Kinallen Road, was disqualified for seven years on 12 September, in respect of his conduct as a director of Alex Morton Contracts Limited.

The Department for the Economy has previously accepted a disqualification undertaking for six years from another director of the Company.

The commercial buildings construction firm from Killysorrell Road, Dromore entered administration on 20 February 2013 with a total estimated deficiency of £994,630.

The matter of unfit conduct in relation to Alex Morton in respect of his conduct as a director and accepted by the court was: Making payments of £225,000 to a person connected with the company, in preference to other creditors at a time when he knew or ought to have known that the company was insolvent.
